Basketball Bunkroom Reveal

Excited to share this shared boys makeover with you! With just a little paint and some decor I was able to really dress up this bunkroom for two brothers, (7 & 8 years old) to enjoy and grow into.  I even showed their dad pictures of the room before he saw it in real life and he said, “I don’t believe this is in my house.”  I’m gonna call that a win. So here it is.

The Before of the Bunkroom

I wish I had a true before picture. But, before the new bunkbeds the bunkroom had two twins next to one another.  The room is quite large with a little alcove that perfectly fits a bunkbed.  However, switching from two twins side by side to a bunkbed opened up tons of carpet floor space for the boys to play and just be boys.

The Plan for the Bunkroom

Color block the walls using a complimenting color to the wall’s existing color.

Add some neutral decor and bedding that the boys can enjoy even into their teenage years.

Create a fun space for the boys to play video games.

Full tutorial on how to get a clean, crisp line can be found here.

But, another project I color blocked, but in the reverse is in my son’s bunkroom.  We did blue with stars and constellations on top and a solid light color on bottom.  Click here for the tutorial.
