Home Tour – Part 2

Our home is a rambler that has a basement. When we bought it 5 years ago, the basement was completely unfinished. Let me show you what I did 🙂

I think its important to note, how this basement didn’t happen overnight. It was a series of smaller projects combined to make a cohesive and functional space. Note this timeline isn’t multiple contractors or DIYers working 8-12 hour days 5 days a week. This is a combination of full-time contractors + myself (a DIYer / full-time mom of 3 / and basketball coaches wife) and occasionally my husband tackling projects in-between real life.

I could cry all the happy tears because what I envisioned when I mocked up the basement has come to fruition tenfold better than I had originally planned.

If you didn’t know, I announced that we are building a home! So, we will be listing this one eventually. So what will we do until our new home is finished? Well, I’m having a baby in the spring and I still have a handful of projects I want and need to do here in my own home before I feel comfortable and ready to put it on the market!  Am I taking into consideration doing projects that are more enticing to buyers vs very custom? Yes, I have been thinking about that for the last few years, but also, I want to live in the present and enjoy my spaces and love them and hopefully whoever decides to buy our house in the future loves them too.

Well, there you have it. I’ve spilled the beans, and I can’t wait to take you along for the whole journey. Don’t forget to head on over to my online course, DIY Beginner Basics, where I will teach you, and walk you through all you need to know to start DIYing. Use code: HONEYBUILT10 for 10% off.

until next time, Christine
