How To Build a Privacy Fence

Are you needing some privacy in your front or backyard? Let me show you how I built this super easy privacy fence!

Privacy Fence in 2 hours!

This system is sooo easy! I wasn’t sure at first about adding this fence here, but I’m so glad I did! It added so much to the jacuzzi area, and was super easy to install. This is not a sponsored post but I just had to share. This system is from Hoft Solutions, and you can purchase it in all different sizes at Lowes.

Installing the Fence Posts

First, you’re going to install the posts. The instructions tell you to mount the posts. I have 2×6’s under the decking that I’m screwing into. But, you can secure this to a concrete pad OR pour footings. Each post can be 6 feet apart or closer.

What Kind Of Wood?

The wood I bought is 12′ 1×6 cedar boards. Then paired it with the solutions posts. The cool thing is, you can use cedar wood OR composite decking depending on the look you’re going for. One of the questions I got a lot in my DM’s was, “did you seal the wood?’ I didn’t, cedar wood holds up very well in outdoor conditions. However, if you wanted to seal your wood, you totally could.

Seriously So Simple!

You cut the wood to size. Spacer. Wood. Spacer. Wood. It comes with spacers, so you just slide your board in, slide in a spacer, and slide the next board. SIMPLE!

Accessories!

A cool feature is all the accessories are all from Hoft Solutions as well. They slide and lock between the wood boards. Easy to move around!
