Backyard Fun in the Old Days

Summer fun in the old days consisted of long days in the sun, hanging in the backyard with friends and family. When you would play for hours on the slip and slide, play basketball, play boardgames, and more. Oh,  you can’t forget those old fashioned play sets with the metal slides that burned you all the way down.

Well, lets get back to the basics! We don’t have to go back in time to re-create those same memories. Summer backyard memories can be created close to home, and it doesn’t require expensive goods and long trips. Even small items and toys go a long way towards creating an epic summer in your backyard.

Backyard Fun with Everyday Low Prices

This summer, money might be a little tight but Walmart makes it easy to still create the moments you’ll remember with every day low prices.

Even small items and toys go a long way towards creating an epic summer in your backyard. Let me show you a few of my favorite items that can turn your frown upside down 🙂 and help create a summer to remember.

Games in the Backyard

A lot of these games are like the ones we used to play as kids but just better lol. Like a huge Connect Four…like what!? Have you played corn hole yet? My husband and I love this game! Are you competitive like us? I definitely like to win 🙂

Summer Heat

Bring on the heat! If you have little ones, or even big ones…water is a necessity during summer backyard days. Some of my fondest memories as a child were playing on the slip and slide with friends. After the water toys mess up your grass lol, check out my how to landscape your backyard post.

Burn off some Energy

I don’t know about you, but the best part of summer days is when the kids come inside and just CRASH! There is no tired like summer tired. I just love letting my kids go wild and free in the backyard and watching them jump on the trampoline, playing on the swings, going up and down the slide, and riding scooters and bikes. Check out my post on how to line a backyard pickle-ball court.

Bugs Bugs and more Bugs

We absolutely love hanging out under the pergola with the beautiful strings lights and watching the kids play. What we don’t love, is all the bugs! Bug spray, citronella candles, and lanterns are a must during backyard summer nights.
