Time and time again, these dinner rolls are a fan favorite. Even when I make extra, there are never any leftovers! Whenever I share them on Instagram stories, I’m flooded with requests for the recipe—so I figured it was about time to share my secret. These homemade crescent rolls are soft, buttery, and absolutely irresistible. Once you make them, no other rolls will ever compare. They take a little love and patience with two rises, but the end result is golden, fluffy perfection that will have everyone asking for seconds.

Heavenly Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Yeast
- 1/4 Cup Warm Water
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 Cup Warm Milk
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 3-4 Cups Flour
- Butter Melted (for tops of rolls)
Directions
- Activate the yeast. In a small bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and ½ tsp sugar. Let stand until bubbly, about 5–10 minutes.
- Heat milk in a glass bowl until a protein film forms on top (about 2–3 minutes in the microwave). Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine coconut oil, ½ cup sugar, and salt. Add 1 cup of flour and mix well. Stir in the warmed milk.
- Beat in the eggs until smooth (mix vigorously by hand or with a mixer).
- Add the yeast mixture and mix again until smooth.
- Gradually add 3–4 more cups of flour, mixing until the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
- Transfer dough to a greased or lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a tea towel and let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Place rolls on a greased 11×16-inch pan (about 3 across and 8 rows down). Cover with a tea towel and let rise until doubled, about 1–2 hours.
- Bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes, or until lightly golden. Rolls should spring back when lightly touched.
- Brush warm rolls with melted butter before serving. Enjoy!
